AN EXTREMELY RARE .450 (BOXER) BLACK POWDER SELF-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'KYNOCH-SCHLUND MKI' serial no. 5,
circa 1886, with octagonal 6in. barrel, raised sighting rib with ramp and crescent fore-sight, the top of rib signed 'KYNOCH GUN FACTORY, ASTON', break-open hammerless frame with auto-ejecting fluted cylinder, barrel release to rear (marked with '5'), possible replacement chequered walnut one-piece grip and guarded trigger with extension piece for cocking below the bow, the whole refinished

Other Notes: These rare revolvers were patented by Harry Schlund who managed the old Tranter works after it was acquired by Kynoch upon Tranter's retirement. Only approximately 600 revolvers were produced across both MKI & MKII designs and in three calibres,.450, .476 & .380 and MKI's especially are seldom found today
